HNP Capital will be hosting a book signing and breakfast at the Country Club of Rochester on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the Library room. Mark Zupan, president of Alfred University, will be discussing his recent book:
Inside Job: How Government Insiders Subvert the Public Interest
National decline often arises from special interests corrupting a country’s institutions. Such narrow interests include crony capitalists, consumer activists, economic elites, and labor unions. Less attention is given to government insiders — rulers, elected officials, bureaucrats, and public employees. In autocracies and democracies, government insiders have the motive, means, and opportunity to co-opt political power for their benefit and at the expense of national well-being. Many storied empires have succumbed to such inside jobs.
Please join us on Friday January 19 at 9:00 a.m. as the author explains how government insiders use their power to subvert the public interest during this intriguing book forum.
Please let us know if you will be joining us by Wednesday January 10 by phone or email to Edna Teresi at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 585-461-6085.
